Astralnaut. Reality Architect. Lucid Dream Artificer.
Kevin Wikse began martial arts training thirty years ago in Southern California under the Hop Sing Tong Benevolent Association in Los Angeles, China Town. He first learned the fearless Southern Dragon, Sun-style Baguazhang, and Xingyiquan. After moving to Boise, Idaho as a teenager, Kevin Wikse learned Crushing Step from 7-Star Northern Mantis, the four pillars of Hung Gar, and the rare Sea Maau Hok, or Cat, Snake, and Crane combined fist form. He furthered his understanding of Southern Dragon, Baguazhang, and Xingyiquan from one of the last remaining Hop Sing Tong members in Garden City, Idaho.
Kevin Wikse studied with a student of Sifu Paul Zink, learning Tall Monkey, Stone Monkey, and Lost Money styles before branching out into Lama Pat or Lion’s Roar, a long bridge (long arm) style from Tibet with strong ties to India’s gladiatorial fighting system of Vajramushti.
In the last decade, Kevin Wikse has focused his attention on the efficient and aggressive Chu Gar school, or Southern (Hakka peoples) Praying Mantis, furthered his practice of Monkey Kung Fu and the logical savagery that is Lama Pai (Lion’s Roar), and has finally begun to cognitively, not just intuitively, understand the exceedingly profound applications of Baguazhang’s and Xingyiquan’s unlimited potential for personal development and self-preservation.
The refinement of high-level, more esoteric Qigong has become a primary focus for Kevin Wike. Being in his 40s and having suffered numerous (a few nearly catastrophic) injuries from being an operative for special projects outside the regular purvey of State and Federal Agencies, he realizes maintaining optimal health levels and healing from old wounds are paramount for moving forward.
